The availability of gift cards that coincide with the most common prices of many of the artist's pieces is a great idea. It makes it easy to give a gift that the receiver can customize.

I’m beyond thrilled with the gorgeous glicee print of “I am an Island” (and not just because the vertical version of this image will appear on the cover of a novel I have coming out next May). I so enjoyed visiting Alan Claude’s studio in Gardiner. It’s a lovely little town, and Alan is terrifically warm and welcoming. I was near the end of my Maine visit when I stopped by to order the print, and it almost beat me home!

Sadly I missed out on the 2025 calendar last year, but so happy to have gotten the 2026!!

Our daughter-in-law, whose family has a summer place in Maine, gave a calendar to us as a gift several years ago. We loved the artist’s ability to capture images in accurate, playful and colorful ways. Down the coast on Cape Cod, we have an appreciation for the ocean, its scenic beauty and the magic it holds. We got hooked and now order one every year. Each month is proudly and prominently displayed in our kitchen. We’re hooked.

I have been buying this calendar for many, many years…even before I lived in Maine. I love changing the months to see the next picture. My favorite calendar, every year.

Over the past several years, we’ve made a new tradition of giving Alan’s desk calendars to a group of friends and family with whom we’ve have shared past vacations in Maine. This year, instead of ordering online, we decided to visit Alan’s gallery to buy our stack of calendars in person. We were amazed and very impressed at how beautifully he and his staff had the gallery arranged, and at the decorated, and at the breadth of the inventory available.
As a bonus, Alan was happy to spend time and talk with us about our trip and make some personal recommendations about places to visit in Maine; he also offered to sign the calendars with personal inscriptions to friends and family!!
