Brant Point Light, in Nantucket, Massachusetts has been guiding in ships into safe harbor since 1746. Over the years due to fire or violent storms the tower has been destroyed, moved, and rebuilt over nine times. The lighthouse is considered to be America's second oldest lighthouse. Walking barefoot on the hot sand and guiding myself to a perfect spot was my first taste of Nantucket in the summer of 2011. Passing sailboats, fishing trawlers and the floating lighthouse, the Nantucket Light Ship, became points of interest and part of my composition. The distinct beauty and friendly island atmosphere of Nantucket will surely make my family and I frequent visitors for many years to come. Rugosa rose bushes scattered about the beach further animates this lively painting.

The colors are bold and striking with a solid ink coverage reminiscent of silk- screen printing
