Owls Head Light, located in Knox County, Maine was challenging to find an appropriate composition because of the short 30-foot tower. From the water, although picturesque, the tower would be too small compared to the other elements. The view from the very top of the stairs was not capturing the feeling either. Instead I chose a more dramatic angle, this time from half way up the stairs. A bold aqua green sky makes up a third of the image, accompanied by receding wind-swept clouds, and the islands on the horizon. I wanted to create in “Owls Head Light” an openness and a sense of the great distance one can see on a clear day.

The colors are bold and striking with a solid ink coverage reminiscent of silk- screen printing

Beautiful prints of our favorite places in Maine

We recently purchased 2 prints to hang in our newly renovated dining room. Every time we sit down to enjoy a meal, we are reminded of our favorite place to vacation..Maine! "Sailboats in Rockland Harbor" and "Owls Head Light" are the perfect addition to another print we purchased years ago, Marshall Point Light. We are happy to have a little Maine in our New Jersey home. Thank you!
