Don't really know what they are supposed to be used for. They're too thin a material for drying dishes. I bought several as gifts not because of their practicality but because they are works of art. I intend to mount mine on a canvas and frame them, and suggested to those who received them as gifts to do the same. Worth the price for that possibility alone. (My house is starting to look like a Alan Claude store....)
