Cape Neddick Nubble Light Art Print 8" x 8" Square
Cape Neddick Nubble Light, in York, Maine is planted on a small rocky island that is 'so close yet so far' from the shore divided by a 100 foot channel. The vivid contrasting autumn light and shadows delivered the depth and dimension for the rock foundation I was seeking, but I added a soft delicate blueish shadow on the tower and the keeper's house. Three seagulls sat immovable atop the red brick oil house so I felt obliged to use them in my composition. My wife Erin chuckled as I recounted the true story of the keeper's cat "Mr T". In the 1930's, the cat would regularly swim and ride a wave to shore to hunt for mice in the nearby rocks. To create a further sense of distance, I used a quaint green-tinted sky along with high- altitude streaking clouds to complete the background.
These square shaped New England lighthouse prints gives the art a smart, modern feel
The versatile 8" x 8" size looks sharp as an accent piece or in a grouping
The colors are bold and striking with a solid ink coverage reminiscent of silk-screen printing

The print is great quality and was shipped immediately after my order. I also appreciate the other information that came with the print. Look forward to future orders!
My mom is from Maine and we have visited this lighthouse before. I bought this print for her for Mother’s Day and she absolutely loved it!!
Ended my first year of using the Alan Claude desk calendar by buying the 2020 version, some cards, and an 8" x 8" print of the Nubble Lighthouse. Love every item, especially the print. Can't wait to get it framed and put up in my office. Alan Claude's work is inspired, colorful, and makes me feel relaxed. Next year I think I'll graduate to the full-sized calendar!
I bought a print for my husband as a gift after our recent trip to Maine and a stop at Nubble Lighthouse. He mentioned how much he enjoyed your work, so I wanted to surprise him. Thank you!
I bought 2 of the prints...one to give to a friend for her birthday, and she absolutely loved it. And, one to keep for myself & It is awesome.
