The Beach at Long Sands

When I saw this Alan Claude print of Long Sands Beach in York, with the Nubble Light in the distance, I knew I wanted to hang that picture in our three season porch. It reminded me of the time I first came to York, after accepting a job locally, it was the scene that I saw on my first trip to York. It brings back the crisp ocean air and all the times since then that we have enjoyed the beach, and when we have taken our friends out to see the lighthouse up close. I really enjoy the technique that Alan uses to create these images- bright, colorful, and reminiscent of earlier times when life seemed to be a lot simpler.
