Portland Head Light Art Print 8" x 10" Framed Travel Poster - Maine
Portland Head Light, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine is the quintessential lighthouse and one the most photographed lighthouses in America. How was I going to find a unique angle on a vertical canvas that captured its dramatic beauty? I started sketching this magnificent light in March but did not find the right composition until late August when the prominent shadows gave me the depth I was looking for. To add further drama, I reduced the number of colors I was witnessing to green granite rocks, black shadows, and a cream-colored sky. Gray distant clouds added the final touch and made this beautiful scene bolder with a greater depth perspective.
The colors are bold and striking with a solid ink coverage reminiscent of silk-screen printing
Limited to 500 prints (not numbered) by year of creation
Offset Lithograph printed on archival paper with UV fade-resistant inks
Certificate of Authenticity
This is my second lighthouse print from Alan Claude and I love it!
We wanted to send family something from Maine and were simply not going to send touristy shirts that will wear in the wash or some food item that will get buried in the back of a pantry - or worse - thrown out. We have a few of Alan's art on our walls and the answer was literally in our face the whole time. We ordered framed art of the famous Portland Headlight and one of Inspirational words. It was a big hit and will display in the homes of our families many states away. Ordering was very easy. Tracking process was spot on. I always knew where it was in transit. They Arrived in perfect condition (I'm told) and very much appreciated. Unique Maine Art that is perfect for the holidays (or anytime of the year, really). Now all we need him to consider creating are versions of specific Maine towns. I hope he starts with Gray!
