Rockland Breakwater Light Art Print 8" x 10" Framed Travel Poster - Maine
Rockland Breakwater Light located in Rockland, Maine sits at the tip of a 0.8 mile stone jetty. The lighthouse surrounds itself in a picturesque melange of sea, hillsides, ships and fresh air. As the tide recedes, it leaves a notable water line and seaweed on the granite blocks. One late September (2006) morning, I chartered a boat and took along my sketchbook and camera. The captain and I traveled in a crescent pattern over the calm, moving seas while I searched for the right composition. As we gradually moved further away from the lighthouse, the nearby Camden Hills magnified its presence. "That's it!" I exclaimed. A balance of sea, lighthouse, hillside, and sky provided the depth and drama I was seeking. The sun was shinning brightly that morning on the face of the lighthouse and flag, delivering a striking and memorable scene.

I have admired Alan’s work every time I walk past it in the Portland jetport. Now I have some of my very own. Fast service, packaged well and the framing he did was perfect, and half the price of my local art framer. Plan on buying more pieces as gifts. Support Maine artists!
